Honesty before Kindness

For those that know me they know that I believe the question is incredibly important and to become a Spiritually Aligned Leader you must always be checking in and asking the hard questions of yourself. This is how I ended last weeks newsletter. What I didn’t get a chance to say was, “after you have asked the hard questions of yourself you have to be HONEST with yourself”.

Honesty begins with YOU. So many of us know what is right for us but we don’t follow our intuition instead we go along to get along. When we area able to be truly honest with ourselves about what we want and need we can begin to be honest with others.

When was the last time you asked yourself, How happy am I really? Do I love my job or am I just there for a paycheque? Am I satisfied with my relationships? Here are some other questions you can consider asking yourself. What in my love do I need to discard? Are their relationships that I have that are not health and do not bring me joy? Am I hanging on to old beliefs that no longer serve me?

I love questions…once you have asked the hard questions it is time to be HONEST with yourself. This is where the journal comes out…sorry I know some of you are like, “you have to be kidding I don’t want to put this stuff on paper”. It only becomes real when you are willing to write it down and then read your own pen.

This is where change can begin. Make a commitment to stop doing one thing that does not serve you. That is a start.

There is an old quote which I love. “Live every day as if it is your last and someday you most certainly will be correct” Make a commitment to ask yourself each day; if I knew this was my last day would I be glad I am doing what I am about to do and if the answer is yes great but if the answer is no too many days in a row it is time to make a change.

Change is evolution and evolution is growth and growth is the purpose of our existence.
