This month I watched this interview with Mo Gawdat** who was talking about the choices we have regarding AI, the future of work and humanity more widely. His vision is compelling – there will be no need to work – we will live in a utopia if we can only see how to get there.
This is how I understand his ideas:
In the short term (next 10-15 years) this means a huge amount of disruption as the capitalist systems, mainly Taylorism, that have underpinned our working existence for the past 150 years start to dismantle as “The Machines” take over the tasks for us.
Then something bad will happen, and this will lead us to reset and choose peace and simple humanity based upon love of life and love for each other.
He explores a world where work will consist of deep philosophical discussions, living and being with our or families and our children rather than leaving them at nurseries while we slave away for 8-12 hours a day. In essence, step by step we choose to be reborn into something new and wonderful.
Is this a really possibility? Watch the video below and see what you think?
At Change Innovators we specialise in supporting organisations and individuals to prepare for the future, if this video prompted you to consider your own leaning, development and preparation for what the next few years might bring please drop us a line. We would love to hear from you.
