What if I told you that each one of us is intended to live an extraordinary life? A life that is completely unique and incredible. I truly believe this, but I also believe that most of us are being held back from living this extraordinary life. Depending on where we are in our journey, what holds us back will be different.
Some of us are held back by roadblocks we have placed along the way. We believe we are supposed to look after everyone else and take care of everything. We volunteer way beyond our capacity, we are completely involved in our children and/or parents lifes, or we have people in our lifes that clearly don’t bring joy, peace and balance. Why do we do these things?
Some of us are held back by a deep internal limiting belief that we are not worthy. It doesn’t really matter what the focus of the worthiness is. It could be not worthy of having money or overall abundance, not worthy of finding love, not worthy of having a fabulous career that brings incredible meaning or not being worthy of success overall. Where do these beliefs come from and why do we have them?
Some of us are held back not by our fear of inadequacy but by a fear of brilliance. One of my favorite quotes by Marianne Williamson goes like this:
We are all meant to find our greatness by exploring all of the amazing options life provides and determine what truly jazzes us (our unique purpose). Unfortunately, most of us are stuck and are being held back by a variety of things. We live in a society where we make it easy to blame our circumstances or life situation instead of simply saying, “I make a commitment to find my true nature; to remove obstacles in my way; to breakdown my limiting beliefs and to seek my greatness.
Remember it is a process; a journey, NOT a destination. It takes a clear commitment and focus that is subtle and strategic in nature. Be kind to yourself and others, be gentle with this work and allow yourself time to move through the changes slowly and gently.
