Non-Judgement in Leadership

Would leaders be more effective if they applied the principles of Non-Judgement. Could we still lead. What would the workplace look like (feel) if we removed judgement from all meetings, interactions?

Could be become more curious instead of positional?   What would our work experience feel like if we focused on a need to understand, basis instead of needing to instruct or tell.  Can you imagine a world (work world in particular) where non-judgement was the norm.

In Dare to Lead by Brené Brown, the author states, “The desire to judge is strong in most of us.  What’s interesting is that from a research perspective, we can quantify it…When you are operating in a space of non-judgement – I can ask for what I need, and you can ask for what you need – then we can talk about how we feel without fear of judgement.”

Can we move to a space of non-judgement, evaluation?  In my Accountability Model I define evaluations as being derived from meaningful data which can allow others to draw similar conclusions.  These do not have an emotion attached to it.  Judgements are when a negative emotion is applied to an evaluation, especially in context where there are no attempts made to be vulnerable or to seek clarification.  Which do you feel is more effective?
